Marvin Kurzban's Obituary
Marvin Kurzban, 78, died June 11th peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, devoted father and cherished by many.
Born October 9, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Benjamin and Irene Kurzban. Marvin ruled the mean streets of Sheepshead Bay besting all in the neighborhood at stickball and other games (especially dominating his brothers). He married his college sweetheart Susan when they graduated from the George Washington University and moved to Miami, FL where he attended the University of Miami Law School. Marvin had a long, successful career as a trial lawyer, heading his own law firm, Kurzban, Kurzban, Weinger & Tetzeli with his younger brother Ira.
He and Susan raised three wonderful children and was a devoted husband and father, coaching baseball, taking family skiing and fishing trips and traveling around the world. He will be remembered for his passion, his big personality, his generosity and his devotion to golfing. He enjoyed playing ball and cards with friends from childhood and throughout life and was easy to laugh and yell, sometimes at the same time. He loved sports (and in his mind was the greatest athlete of all time). Vacations with family, watching movies and sitting in his chair were second only to winning the Puerto Rican amateur open.
Marvin Kurzban is survived by his loving wife Susan (Goldstein) Kurzban, sons Jed (Lorna Watson), Seth (Jessica Freiheit) and daughter Meredith (Mikel Curreri). His brothers Jerold (Anne) and Ira. Also surviving are his adored grandchildren Elspeth, Ailsa, Adina, Datya, Nathaniel, Theodore and Charles. He was predeceased by his brother Mitchell (Iris). His family will celebrate his life on Saturday, June 15th. He will be tremendously missed. Arrangements by Levit- Weinstein Blasberg,Rubin Zilbert Memorial Chapel, (305) 932-2700.
