Mel was a great boss and friend. I went to work for him in February of 1971 but have known him since 1969. How young we all were then! And since he retired, we’ve stayed in touch. For years it would be lunch with Mel and Gert and Marion. After Gert passed, then Mel and Marion, and then Marion passed, and just Mel and me. It was always a great time of a catching up on what was happening in the lives of the "Kartzmer" clan and hearing about the last trip they had gone on or the one coming up. In January we had our annual lunch at DeSalvo’s and he brought pictures of his great-grandchildren. He loved being a great-grandfather. I’m going to miss him. Sending prayers for peace and comfort to Karen and Sheri and their families. Love, Luana
