Mercedes Mautner
February 7, 1928 – January 13, 2021
Aventura, Florida
Adored mother of Sofi (Steve) Trien, Anita (Isaac) Garazi and Patty (Jimmy) Stone, grandmother of 9 grandchildren, Faby, Penny, Laura, Estee, Joey, Ellis, David, Joey, Jennifer and 18 great-grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Mikey, Jacob, Nataly, Zachary, Dylan, Joshua, Olivia, Mathew, Madison, Alexandra, Vivi, Noah, Ruby, Amelia, Nathan, and Isaac. Mercedes was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where she met her husband of 23 years, Jose Mautner. Together, they built very successful businesses in Peru. Mercedes was always an exceptional businesswoman, she loved working and excelled at it. She built a very close and loving family; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren know her as the family's Grand Matriarch - a beautiful, strong, loving woman whose love for them knew no bounds and who encouraged each to do their best. Being in her presence meant feeling special and learning from her was one of the greatest gifts. Mercedes was extraordinary, intelligent, talented, strong, and formidable. Her family continues her legacy of love, grace, strength, and the drive to leave the world better than they found it. Mercedes left her mark on the world for anyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Abue Meche lives in us and will always be in our hearts. Private family funeral 1/15/21. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 932-2700
