Merle Haber's Obituary
Merle Jeanne Haber 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Merle was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to her beloved parents Ida and Edward Shadrow. She went to Senn High School and Chicago Teacher's College. While working in New York as a Special Education teacher, she met and wed Richard Haber. They moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where Darcy Stephanie and Ty Ian joined the family. In the early 1970's they relocated to Boca Raton, where Merle enjoyed an active life filled with family and friends. She had a passion for travel, antiques and her many pets. Merle was an active member of the Boca Raton Historical Society. She loved crossword puzzles and a newly created interest in Maj Jhong. Merle is survived by her husband Richard, daughter Darcy Greene (Richard), son Ty Haber (Rachel) and beloved grandson's, Jacob, Nathan and Maxwell. She will be sorely missed by her sister's Sheila Franklin, Francine Gelman and many family members. Funeral service: Sunday, October 12, 1 pm - Levitt Weinstein Chapel, 7500 N SR 7, Coconut Creek , FL 33073, 954-427-6500. Burial Service: Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 US 441, Boynton Beach, FL 33473, 561-737-7411. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Diabetes Association . Family will be receiving guests at the Porterfield Home, 714 Coquina Ct., Boca Raton after the services.
