Merle Jacobson's Obituary
Jacobson, Merle of Miami, Florida passed away July 27, 2016 at the age of 95. Merle was born July 7, 1921 in McKeesport, PA. Merle was beloved husband of Florence Sidle for over 71 years. Cherished father of Dr. Allyn Jacobson (Peggy), Debbie Jacobson, and Dr. David Jacobson (Suzanne). Grandfather of Kevin (Jenny), Mark (Sarah), Sara (Gabriel), Rachel (Ari) & Noah (Michali) and 6 great-grandchildren. He attended Case Western Reserve and the University of Pittsburgh before joining the US Army Air Corp during WWII. After the war, he joined the family business in Pittsburgh. In the summer of 1960 he retired from the business and relocated his family to South Florida where he pursued a second career as a stock broker. For many years he was involved in various community organizations including the Masons where he served for many years as Chaplain of Miracle Lodge. Everyone who knew Merle Jacobson was struck by his great kindness and gentle nature. He was a truly devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather and caring friend. Graveside Service will be held TODAY, Friday, July 29th at 11:00 AM at Mt. Nebo Miami Memorial Gardens, 5505 NW 3rd St., Miami. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 865-2353
