Milton (Whitey) Greiss' Obituary
Milton (Whitey) Greiss 1928-2018, age 90, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida. An All-American at DeWitt Clinton and a stalwart on the NYU basketball squad, he starred on New York City’s basketball courts from 1943-49 with some of the greatest players in the game including Dolph Schayes. His beloved wife of 68 years, Joan, tagged him with his nickname because of his very blonde hair when he was 16 and it stuck. His quick reflexes and incisive wit served him well in his career as a salesman as well as in the card room where he was known as one of the best gin rummy players around. He is survived by Joan, sons Terry (Vicky) & Rory (Jill), & grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Kelly & Liam.
