Milton Meyer Swersky's Obituary
Milton Meyer Swersky, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013.
Born in The Bronx, New York in 1920, he is survived by his loving wife Muriel, daughters Susan (Steve) Levine and Carol (Jeff) Frachtman, grandchildren Jennifer (Paolo) Giacone, Jason (Laure) Bodner, Joshua (Julie) Frachtman, Brianna Frachtman and Staci Frachtman, as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Noah, Alessandro, Sacha, Liam and Jacob. Milton volunteered for service the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and served with pride and honor as a flight engineer with the United States Army Air Corps, training soldiers for combat until 1945. Milton and Muriel moved to South Florida in 1961, where he worked for Barco Chemicals for more than 25 years and retired as a Vice President. A proud Mason, his true passion was his family and his work with children and teens through the United Synagogue Of America Youth Movement, through which he focused on Jewish education and camping experiences. Thousands of "USYers" fondly called him "Uncle Milty." He will be missed and long remembered with love. Chapel service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday at Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel, Coconut Creek, Florida. To express condolences, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to United Synagogue Youth or the Majestic Isles Hadassah chapter.
