Miriam 98, passed away on June 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Miriam was born May 8, 1916, in NYC, New York, the daughter of the late Rebecca and Max Cohen.
In 1940, Miriam married the love of her life Sol Cinnamon after a courtship that lasted nearly eight years. Their marriage was interrupted by World War II in which Sol served with distinction. She and Sol would have celebrated their 74th anniversary on June 30, 2014.
In addition to raising their three children, Miriam also taught as a substitute teacher in the Bergenfield, New Jersey school system.
Miriam is survived by her husband, Sol, daughter Meryl (Joseph Frederick) of Lauderhill, FL, son Mark (Doreen Kelly) of Chevy Chase, MD, son Ralph (Nancy) of Palm Coast, FL, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Charlie, several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and close friends.
Funeral services Wed. TODAY June 18th 2:00PM at Levitt Weinstein/Beth David, 3201 N. 72nd Ave., Hollywood 954-963-2400. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Miriam's name to Temple Beth Israel, 481 Sawgrass Corporate Pkwy, Sunrise, FL 33325.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to Dr. Ayman Abdou and Dr. Alan Nigen for their dedicated and devoted service on Miriam's behalf and to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care for its support in her final days.
