Miriam Goldstein's Obituary
Goldstein, Miriam passed away peacefully on October 6, 2015. She was born on November 30, 1919, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she resided with her parents, Lillian and Mitchell Braunstein and her brother, Moie. Her family moved to Washington DC, Baltimore, Maryland, and finally settled in Miami, Florida, where Miriam met and married the love of her life, Samuel Goldstein. They were happily married for over 62 years. Miriam and Sam were always very philanthropic. They were generous supporters of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, The Alzheimer's Care Committee, and Mount Sinai Hospital. Miriam and Sam had a fabulous daughter, Sandra. She was the apple of their eyes. She followed in Sam's footsteps and became a successful lawyer. It gave them great joy when Sandra became Sam's law partner in their firm Goldstein & Goldstein. Sandra also followed in her parents' footsteps philanthropically. Sandra became one of the first young female trailblazers in our Jewish community. The prestigious Sandra C. Goldstein Young Leadership Award is presented each year in honor of Sandra's memory by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Unfortunately, both Samuel and Sandra predeceased Miriam. Because of Miriam's strength of spirit, caring, and sharp intellect, she was a treasured sounding board for many who adored her. Services will be held on Friday Oct. 9th 11:00 AM, at Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel 18840 West Dixie Highway, NMB, Fl. 33180 305-932-2700. Donations can be made to the Sandra Goldstein Memorial Fund at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein/NMB
