Moises Chorowski's Obituary
CHOROWSKI, MOISES 83, of Bay Harbor. Moises Chorowski (“Choro”) passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 after a brief hospitalization. Born in Havana, Cuba to Roberto and Flora Chorowski, Moises is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Rosita, his daughters Suzy (Evan) and Rae (Paula), and his grandchildren Jeffrey and Taylor Howell. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Enita. After graduating from the University of Havana with a degree in Architecture, Moises worked as an architect in Cuba before immigrating to the United States in 1960. In his 45-year career as a General Contractor, he left his imprint on the South Florida construction community through his many commercial and residential projects. A brilliant and caring man who took great pride in his work, he could never say no to a request for construction advice, no matter how large or small. Everyone knew they could call Choro and he would be there to fix the problem. But his true passions were his love for his family, his friends, for travel, for art, and his joy for life. No party was complete without his mischievous presence, and pranks performed by Choro, as well as at his expense, are legendary. The mere mention of Choro’s name brings a smile to the faces of those who loved him. Even after Parkinson’s Disease had robbed him of mobility and impaired his speech, the twinkle in his eyes confirmed his continuing appreciation for a pretty face and a funny joke. He was a force of nature and will be dearly missed. Donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation. Funeral service TODAY, Wednesday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 720-71st Street, Miami Beach (305) 865-2353
