Molly was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Tillie and Max Greenberg. She was always known by the name of Miriam. She was the fourth of five children. The family later moved to Brooklyn, New York where she attended Eastern District High School. Throughout her childhood, she was an avid reader and remained so for her whole life. After graduation, Miriam worked at various jobs, the last being the New York City License Department where she met her future husband, Murray Kellner. Miriam and Murray were married in 1947. They raised two daughters, Judith and Eileen. The family resided in Manhattan where they had the opportunity to visit museums, theaters, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades and Radio City Music Hall to mention just a few. Miriam was a devoted wife and stay at home Mom. She focused all of her energies on provided a warm and nurturing environment for her family. Miriam was an excellent cook and baker. Her sponge cake and mandel bread were exceptional.
Once the children were grown, Miriam and Murray retired to Plantation, Florida where they created a new life for themselves.
Her pastimes were Mah Jongg and Canasta and she was a serious competitor. She was a life member of Hadassah and gladly volunteered many hours of her time to the organization. Miriam was always happiest when she could do something to help others. She was honored as Woman of the Year by her Hadassah chapter in Plantation, Florida.
Miriam was a wonderful caring woman beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Judith and husband Simon, her daughter Eileen and husband Steven, a sister Pearl and brother in law Allan, four grandchildren, a great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
