Morton Goudiss' Obituary
Morton R. Goudiss, 91, passed away February 4, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Morton was born in Newcastle, Delaware before he and his parents, Lee and Marie, moved to Miami Beach in 1933. His grandfather, Sol Goldstrum, opened the first bakery in Miami Beach and later Lee took ownership. Morton grew up in the era when Miami Beach was simply a charming beach town. He graduated from Miami Beach Senior High before attending the University of Miami, where he joined Zeta Beta Tau and began many of the friendships he maintained throughout his life. After graduating from the University of Miami school of law, Morton went on to serve in the JAG division of the United States Army. He returned to Miami Beach after his commission ended, where he began his 55 plus years as an attorney. Morton was an icon and the last of his kind serving as a general practitioner to his clients and the community. Morton was a man who understood the importance of building solid relationships, and honoring them with unprecedented loyalty.
Morton is survived by Gloria, his wife of 47 years and their children, Helene, Gregg, Alan, Debbie, Rob, Sarah, Lori, Mike, and Melissa; grandchildren, Adam, Amanda, Mikey, Jessi, Harrison, Hope, Grace, Max, Kyle, Madison, and Steven; Great-grandchildren, Archie and Atlas- with a few on the way! Morton’s fortitude, strength, and determination live on in the large and loving family who carries on.
