Murray Dinney Dinofer's Obituary
THE VERY SPECIAL LIFE OF Murray “Dinney” Dinofer
Murray “Dinney” Dinofer, was most importantly a dedicated family man. He was also a musician, entrepreneur, entertainer, humorist, and a lover of life. He and his wife Jackie Adair, had two sons Jeffrey and Glenn, and their daughter Shelli. Shelli and Glenn with his wife Ramelle gave Dinney five Grand children Gabrielle, Scott, Cortney, Dallas and Saleena with Great Grand children Kaitlyn, Derek and two more coming soon.
Dinney began his professional career as a drummer during the big band era touring the country with some of the biggest names of the day. Having begun his own family he left the road and started what would become one of the largest private and cooperate party orchestra companies in the New York and East Coast regions. Dinney became a sought after orchestra leader and entertainer.
After retiring from the music business he and Jackie moved to south Florida living on a floating home, docked across from the Eden Rock in Miami Beach. Dinney wasn’t one for sitting around or playing golf. He began an industrial theme party business which grew to a multi million dollar firm.
Well again he retired, but not for long. He had an itch he wanted to scratch. At the age of 70 years Dinney became a stand up comic. He played shows across South Florida and even performed at the Improv Comedy Club.
During his professional career which spanned over six decades Dinney brought joy and entertainment to countless thousands and was recognized by fans wherever he went. He developed many dear friends, from those in the industry to people he never knew. If you were lucky enough to stand near him in the supermarket check out line or in a bank or virtually anywhere he went you were introduced to a man who was magnetic. He loved people and they loved him back.
He was a rare unique and joyous individual who lived a full life like no other.
We will miss your magnanimous sense of humor, your stories and most of all your fatherly love. You will forever be in our hearts.
