Neil and I were close friends from the time we were toddlers until I moved to California in 1961. We shared a memorable childhood in Hillside, New Jersey, and the Goodmans' house was like a second home to me.
Neil had a huge heart, always taking care of others. His kindness and generosity to his friends and neighbors showed in how he treated all of us.
As he matured, he shared these gifts with his colleagues. Highly regarded in his profession, Neil stood out among his peers, as evidenced by the loving tributes I just read today, June 10, 2020, a very sad day for us after we heard the news of Neil's death.
For several years we kept up our friendship and got together with our spouses a few times. As life continued, we lost touch. Late in 2016, I found Neil. We emailed and made a plan to have lunch with him and Toni when we traveled to Florida in 2018. My husband
Don and I could see how much Neil loved his beautiful wife Toni when we finally met her that day two years ago. What a lovely lunch and wonderful memory we have of that day!
We send Toni, Ellen, Rich and their children and grandchildren our sincere sympathy. Family was everything to Neil. May your memories of his well-lived life remain with you and sustain you at this very sad time.
