Perry Mandel's Obituary

Perry, a long time Miami Beach resident, most recently of Weston, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle passed away peacefully on April 14th at the age of 84. Born on August 14, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, where he met and married the love of his life, Margit, together they moved their growing family to Miami Beach in 1964. Perry was a self-made man, an entrepreneur, involved in many businesses. He owned and operated the Traymore Hotel on Collins Avenue until 1973. In 1974, he went in to the picture frame manufacturing business until his retirement. He was a member of the Miami Beach zoning board, affiliated with Sossin Systems and was a member of The Brotherhood of Temple Dor Dorim. He is survived by, Margit (nee Nad), his wife of 57 years, five children: Nadine Mandel of New York, Alan (Janine) Mandel, Eric Mandel, Jeffrey Mandel, and Cheryl (Frank) Filippelli. Twelve grandchildren: Josh (Stacey), Adam (Dara), Justin, Brooke (Jason), Jarred, Jordan, Samantha, Alyssa, Brandon, Jesse, Philip, and Danielle. Three great grandchildren: Riley, Noah and Skylar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Perry Mandel to Temple Dor Dorim. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday April 17th at Temple Dor Dorim, 2360 Glades Circle in Weston.
