My thoughts and prayers go out to Pete's family during this time. I worked with Pete as his first Executive Assistant in Raleigh and still recall the many days he would be working on his "baby" BTI but then would talk about the next endeavour he was coming up with. He was quite amazing - a rare mix of true entrepreneur and philanthropist. His larger than life laugh was a favorite of mine. He will certainly be missed.
My condolences to the Loftin family. Especially, Geoff. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.😇🙏
I started as a reception in the early years of BTI and grew with them for ten years. Some of the best years and memories of my life. We worked hard and we played harder. I was truly blessed to have had Pete in my life during this time of growth. Fly High my friend, Fly high! Karen Deichman
I knew Pete back in the mid-80s when I moved to Raleigh for a few years. He was one of the first people I met and he introduced me around to help jumpstart my social life there. I have always remembered him as a nice guy and was always happy for his business success. My condolences to his loved ones - gone way too soon.
Tough to accept this one. It is almost an art to be so full of life and generosity, while at the same time quietly working behind the scenes to support others and make the world a safer place. Pete’s contribution to our country, his community, and most of all his family will not be forgotten. Rest easy brother...

I thought the world of Pete...a Gentle Giant.... Sending warmth and condolences to his family.
