Kathryn Cohan Mcnulty
Spoken at the Viewneral:
I know there will be a lot to go through.
There was when my mother passed.
As resolute and organized as he was about the end of his life
My father left loose ends:
Two daughters
Two grandchildren
One great grandchild
A son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and a soon-to-be son-in-law
and many other beloved family members and friends around the country.
And friends from around the world
with whom he had adventures.
Few friends survived
and I am certain that was part of his decision.
And then, COVID.
The disease did not kill him: it left him alone; kept him alone.
Day after day we would talk, less and less to say
Until "I love you" became the only meaningful thing to say.
So we said that.
