Raphael Engels Thompson, 80, died Thursday November 24, 2016 at Florida Regional Hospital after two strokes caused by a brain tumor.
He leaves behind his 4 children; Sandra, Teina, Coldit and Andria, 2 step sons; Hamlet and Trevor, 8 siblings; Lenora, Canon, Pauline, Philmore, Cynthia, Denroy, Joycint, and Beverly, 9 grandchildren, and countless friends
Born and raised in Jamaica, West Indies, the son of Leonard and Vera Thompson.
He spent his entire life learning and working in different trades; watchmaking, woodworking and cabinetry, tour guide, home improvement and later in his partially retired years school bus driving. He had a special way with the students he drove to school.
He had a passion for helping others especially if it meant he could use any of the skills he acquired over the years; family, friends, the elderly couple next door, the struggling single mom, or just someone he met down the street who needed his help. His loving kindness is one of the many things we will miss with his absence.
Funeral services will be held December 2nd, 2016 at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 8135 W McNab Road, Tamarac, Fl and another farewell service in Jamaica sometime next year.
THE ULTIMATE ACT OF KINDNESS:
Romans 5:8. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us"
