Rebecca Rae Jaffe Green's Obituary
GREENRebecca Rae Jaffe, died peacefully at home and in her sleep on June 29, 2010. Rae was born in Brooklyn NY on October 26, 1915 and continued to live in Brooklyn throughout her childhood. She often reminisced about growing up in Brooklyn as it was in the old days. As a young woman she met and married Saul Green. They moved to The Bronx where Rae became a homemaker and together they raised two daughters in a stable and loving home environment that encouraged education. As her children grew more independent she became a school crossing guard and persevered at her job for over twenty years in the often-challenging climate of The Bronx. In 1977 Rae and Saul retired to Miami. Rae was predeceased by her husband Saul in 2005 after sixty-six years of marriage. Rae is survived by her daughter Dorinn Rodman and her husband Phil, her daughter Adrienne Levinthal, her grandchildren Caryn, Adam and Noah Rodman, her grandsons Jason Levinthal and his wife Corrine, Doug Levinthal and his life partner Alexa, and Matt Levinthal and his wife Erin, and her great grandson Luke Levinthal. She is also survived by her dear youngest sister Florence Wasserman, her nieces Veda, Rhona and Lorrie, and her nephew Barry. Sadly she was predeceased by her dear middle sister Lynn Levin Martin and by her nephews Roger and Mark. As were Rae’s wishes, there will be a Graveside Service on Sunday July 4th at 12:00 noon at Mt. Nebo Kendall Memorial Gardens, 5900 S.W. 77th Ave., Miami. There are no calling hours.BLASBERG-RUBIN-ZILBERT(305) 865-2353
