Renee Dorne's Obituary
It is with heavy heart we share that Renee Dorne passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2021. Renee was born 3/29/40 in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of 5 children. She moved to Florida in 1957 to join her sister Elayne. In 1960 she met Alan Dorne at a mutual friend's wedding where they learned they both were from Brooklyn and had lived just a few blocks away from each other in Brooklyn! Sparks flew, they were engaged within days and married within months! They were married 60 years until the untimely passing of Alan on 5/30/20.
Renee lived an adventurous life alongside her husband Alan. They had successful clothing and novelty stores including Huck Finn, Dorne's Gift Shop, and The Zoo in Miami. They promoted many concerts, including Janis Joplin and Frank Zappa; they promoted the production of 'Hair' in Miami Beach, and for many years they promoted and entertained Steve Rossi (from Allen and Rossi) and Jackie Mason. Through the years they had several businesses including medical centers and HMOs and they loved to travel. She referred to the past with Alan as "Loving Colorful Times Together".
Family meant everything to Renee. The most important thing to her was having family together. Renee was a loving wife, mother, (mother in law), grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Alan in 2020, she is survived by her children Robyn, Craig (Susan), grandchildren Danielle(Luis), Seth (Mara), Leslie (Desi), and great grandchildren Levi, Elias, Lilli, and Liam.
