Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1937. As he would always say, “when I could walk I moved to NYC”. Richard was a graduate of Birch Wathen (Lenox) Class of 1954. He was very fond of those years and his classmates and had maintained relationships with the entire class throughout his lifetime. Graduated from Columbia College in 1958 and obtained an MBA from Columbia Business School in 1960. Worked on Wall Street for RCA’s computer division. Came to Miami in 1969 and joined Peat, Marwick, Mitchell as a consultant to the banking industry across the country. Eventually, became the owner and President of Datasymbol Technology, Inc., specializing in hand held computers with specialty software.
His friendship with the late Arthur Lichtendorf, Hans Von Steiger, and Maurice Katz since childhood meant the world to him. Intelligent, an avid reader, loved to travel, great sense of humor, wonderful story teller, terrific dancing partner, and enjoyed emailing his editorials on the current events of the day. A kind thoughtful soul who was A TRUE GENTLEMAN.
Services to be held at Beth David Memorial Gardens, 3201 NW 72 Ave., Hollywood, FL 33024, on Sunday, September 24th, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. The family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
