PODVIN
Robert of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on November 6, 2013 surrounded by his family and dear friends. He was 72. Born August 3, 1941 in Philadelphia, he spent many years of his life in Miami Beach where he graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School in 1959 and the University of Miami. He married his high school sweetheart and raised a family in Miami Beach. He relocated to Orlando in the early 1980’s to become the Vice-President of Sales at First Continental Corporation and then the President of the Club at Star Island in Kissimmee, Florida where he worked for over 30 years. His outgoing personality and quick wit were his trademark…he was always the life of the party. His love, strength and sense of humor remained constant through his final days.
“Bobby” as he was called by family and friends was predeceased by his father, Al Podin, and first wife Merrily. He is survived by his loving mother, Erma Podvin, his sons Scott and Rory Podvin and Brett Taylor Podvin, former wife Judee Podvin Samuels, his devoted sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Hillel Meyers, grandchildren Allison and Brad, nieces and nephews Carrie (Edward) Garazi and Jennifer (Eric) Sheppard and a multitude of devoted, loyal and caring friends. We will miss him dearly.
