Robert Shaw's Obituary
Robert Shaw, 91, beloved husband of Betty (née Biell), passed away on January 29, 2023 due to complications of Covid. Born in Austria in 1931, he lived a full life to the very end. During the Nazi occupation of Vienna, he and his parents, Sigmund and Alice, made a daring escape, traveling through Italy to reach the safety of the United States. He went on to serve his new country with distinction during the Korean War. He received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business and found success in the Insurance industry.
Robert was a true lover of the arts and culture. He had a passion for opera, classical music, painting and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed taking long walks and indulging in exotic cuisines. He had a kind heart, and a peaceful nature. He will be deeply missed for his warm smile, kind words, dry sense of humor and love for life.
Robert was the loving father to Leonora (Marlon), Jonathan (Kathy) and Nicole, and step-father to Rachel (David), sister-in-law of Blanche (Gregg). He was grandfather to Natasha, Eliana, Rebecca, Zachary, Isabella, Sammy and Shane.
