Rose Bernstein's Obituary
Rose Bernstein, a radiant embodiment of love and kindness, passed away on June 28, 2023. She was an extraordinary mother, an adored grandmother and great grandmother, and an invaluable friend, leaving an indelible imprint of warmth on everyone she encountered. Rose was a woman of profound beauty, both in her physical elegance and the depth of her soul. Her generosity was boundless, and she devoted her time selflessly to bettering the lives of others.
As a mother, Rose was a nurturing guide and a steadfast pillar of support for her children. She fostered in them values of empathy, kindness, and strength, an enduring legacy they will carry forward. Rose's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply. She was a storyteller, a giver of wisdom, and a constant source of love for her grandchildren. Her love for them shone brightly in every shared story, every laugh, and every comforting embrace.
Friendships with Rose were cherished gifts. Her ability to listen, to comfort, and to uplift made her a friend to many and a stranger to none. With her unique gift of turning fleeting moments into friendships, even a simple elevator ride was an opportunity to make a new friend. Her spirit of generosity touched people from all walks of life, inspiring those around her to embody similar kindness.
Rose was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 24, 1935 and moved to Miami Beach when she was 4 years old. She married her first husband, Stanford Pierce when she was 18 years old. After their divorce in 1970, Rose met the love of her life and soul mate, Paul Bernstein. She and Paul were married in 1972, and they shared 36 years of marital bliss together until Paul died in 2008. She is survived by her two children, Mitch Pierce and Ken Pierce; her step daughter Pat Whitaker; her five grandchildren, Jessica, Gregory, Benjamin, Stephen and Sarah; her step granddaughter Laura VanPatten; and her two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Bodhi.
In her passing, we mourn the loss of an irreplaceable soul, but we also celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who taught us about the beauty of generosity, the value of sincere connections, and the strength of compassion. The legacy of Rose Bernstein will continue to resonate in the countless lives she has touched, and her memory will forever be held dear in our hearts.
