Sally Dauman's Obituary
Sally Dauman passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026. Born in Lodz, Poland, Sally was a Holocaust survivor whose life stood as a testament to resilience, compassion, strength, and love.
Having lost most of her family during the Holocaust, Sally carried unimaginable pain throughout her life, yet she chose to respond to the world with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to humanity. She dedicated herself to ensuring that future generations would never forget. Through speaking engagements at schools and educational programs, Sally shared her story with countless children and young adults, teaching not only about the horrors of the Holocaust, but also about the importance of peace, love, tolerance, and the dignity of every human being.
A founding member and honorary board member of Holocaust Heroes Worldwide, Sally remained deeply committed to caring for Holocaust survivors and combating antisemitism and hatred through education. She was also a passionate supporter of the State of Israel and of Magen David Adom, generously contributing to causes close to her heart, including the donation of ambulances to help save lives in Israel. Her dedication to remembrance, education, humanity, and the Jewish people remained central to her life’s purpose.
Those who knew Sally will remember her as an incredibly giving soul, full of life, fiercely independent, and endlessly loving. She brought light wherever she went and made people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her warmth, wisdom, and spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Dauman. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Janet, along with the many friends, students, and community members whose lives were deeply touched by her presence.
Sally leaves behind a profound legacy of love, courage, generosity, and remembrance. She will be sorely missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
