Samuel L. Greenfeder 1929-2022
Passed away on February 28. Born in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Sonny and Anna Greenfeder, and brother of late sister, Florence Holbert. Sam was a kind considerate man whose greatest pride was in his family. After moving to Florida as a teen, he graduated from Miami Beach High and the University of Miami, where he was an AEPi and later became the Director of Employee Benefits and an Adjunct Faculty member. Sam proudly served int the United States Coast Guard. With enjoyable pastimes such as golfing, lunch bunch, football and basketball games and a gift for oil-painting canvases. Sam belonged to the Hibiscus Lodge of Masons, Association of UM Retirees, Footlighters, and Leading Ladies. Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Phyllis, amazing son Arthur Greenfeder (Lori), beautiful daughters Gloria Anderton (George) and Joan Sturge. Sam’s pride and joy came from his adoring grandchildren: Dr. Alison Weiss (Dr. Aaron), Spencer Greenfeder, Daniel Anderton, Joseph Anderton, Kevin Sturge and
great-grandson, Jonah Weiss, and loving nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed.
