Samuel (Sam) Isidore Leff's Obituary
Samuel (Sam) Isidore Leff, age 88, of Miami, Florida grew up in the Bronx and moved to South Florida with his family in the late 1950s after graduating law school. Sam met and married his dear Margery (Goldstein) Leff here, who predeceased him 19 years ago. He was a well-respected attorney, judge, community activist, and synagogue leader. He loved his American and Jewish heritage, learning, politics, classical music, the arts, travel, and helping others, instilling these passions and values in his children and grandchildren. Sam was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with each of them. He was a devoted father and grandfather and is survived by his children Geri (Michael) Schachner, Roni (Stephen) Kurtz, and Harry Leff; and grandchildren Ezra, Isaac (Reizl), Aaron, and Yoni Kurtz. He was actively involved with charitable organizations such as American Friends of Magen David Adom and Boys Town Jerusalem. Sam was an avid reader and contributor to the Miami Herald for over 60 years. Continuity, responsibility, kindness, respect, resilience, and dignity are his legacy. Private services were held.
