Samuel Schwartzbaum's Obituary
Schwartzbaum,
Samuel, passed away
September 8. Samuel was born
and raised in Cuba. He married
the love of his life, Sofia, and
with their two young children,
Sara and Steven, left Cuba for
New Vork in 1963. Samuel took
care of his extended family. He
worked his way up in men s
retail until he opened his own
businesses. In 1968, the family
moved to Miami Beach, where
Samuel opened several retail
stores. One of his greatest
passions was the state of Israel,
and he and Sofia were actively
involved in the Cuban division
of Israel Bonds. Samuel served
as president in 1973 and
received the Ben Gurion Award.
He was blessed to have visited
the sate of Israel numerous
times. Samuel was a pillar of
strength and patriarch to his
family and community. People
from all walks of life came to
•him for advice. He was truly a
man of honor and never shared
what was spoken to him in
confidence. He was a wise,
kind, and generous man.
Samuel and Sofia were married
59 years until Sofia's passing
this past Iyne- Samuel is survived
by his children. Sara Jove (David) and Steven
Schwartzbaum (Bonnie), his
brother Johnny Schwartzbaum
(Lydia), his sister Julia
Borennstein (Jaime), his
sister-in-law Masha Phillips
(Stephen), his nieces and
nephews Ana Cohen, Ida Marks,
Sandra Breiterman-Loader
Robert and Gary Schwartzbaum,
Stanley and Mitchell Phillips,
and "his five grandchildren,
Adam, Alison, and David
Schwartzbaum, Jacqueline and
Stacey Jove. In lieu of flowers,
please make a donation to State
of Israel Bonds. Chapel services
9:30am, June 10th at Levitt -
Weinstein, 18840 W. Dixie

Interment 11am Lakeside,
10301 NW 25th St., Miami.
