Sara Golcman Bedzow's Obituary
Sara Golcman Bedzow passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her husband and family on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Born to an Orthodox family in Poland on July 28, 1926, and orphaned at the age of 13 because of the atrocities of the Holocaust, Sara with Charles, her loving and devoted husband of 76 years, built a large and loving family as well as a successful real estate business in Montreal, Canada and South Florida. A true believer, whose courage and virtue led to her survival during the Holocaust, Sara is the epitome of a true survivor. In Canada and in the United States, she served as a matriarch and mentor to her family, sharing her life lessons with her children and grandchildren, as well as everyone she met. A proud Zionist, she also was a benefactor of and leader to the Jewish people, donating to a number of Jewish causes, including the Rabbinical College of America, Jewish Partisan Education Foundation, the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center Holocaust Memorial Fund, and Chevra Kadisha Bnai Jacob in Montreal, Canada. Sara is survived by her husband, three children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Sara Bedzow’s honor to Jewish Partisan Education Foundation (www.jewishpartisans.org), the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center Holocaust Memorial Fund (305-935-0666), and/or Chevra Kadisha Bnai Jacob in Montreal, Canada (thechevra.ca). The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at The Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center Beth Jacob William Landa, 20400 NE 30th Avenue, Aventura, Florida. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 932-2700
