Sara Shapiro's Obituary
SHAPIRO (ROK) SARA passed away June 12, 2018 in Hollywood Florida after enduring a challenging decade facing multiple chronic illnesses. She was adored for her loving heart, compassion and dedication by Jaime Shapiro, her husband of 67 years, her daughters Ester Rebeca, Rachel, and Miriam and grandchildren Aaron, Elissa, Hannah and Ruthie. Sara was born February 8, 1932 in Cabaiguan Cuba to Adela Rok Lanes and Salomon Rok, followed by her brother Natan Rok (all of blessed memory). She migrated to the US in 1960, dedicating her life to family while never forgetting the suffering of the most vulnerable among us. The members of the Rok, Lanes, Shapiro, Bolotin, Martel, and West families remember her as a devoted family member and friend whose spirit of goodness and generosity radiated love and inspired us all to become better ourselves. In honor of her memory we have selected Jewish Community Services of South Florida for donations.
