Taylor Delit
I became a member of H.G.&T. Club in December 2001. Two days after moving into my condo a need to finalize some business led me back to the administration office. Upon entering its front door I couldn't help noticing a gentleman (wearing his baseball cap) standing far into the building, next to the Executive Secretary's desk. Glancing straight into my eyes from that distance, his infectious smile lit his face, ear to ear. His greeting was the very FIRST such welcoming, and for that matter...SMILE... I'd received since arriving here. (It was much needed that day.) Carl, who was leaving the building as I entered, looked back at his brother, then, back at me. His facial expression questioned Saul's smile. Then offered his own.
I will never forget that first moment with Saul. It was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. That's who Saul was. As I write this memory he's probably ..up there...forming some commitee or other.
As those early months and years passed I would become one of the scores who admire and respect him for his work and commitment to Hollybrook.
In 2013, just before and after my son, Marc's death, Saul's friendship, ongoing emotional support, kindness speaks volumes of heart and character of this man. I will miss him.
