Scott L. Stanton's Obituary
Scott L. Stanton (1955-2013)
Scott Stanton used the gift of life fully and was himself a cherished gift to all who knew and loved him. He passed away suddenly on February 15, 2013. Scott was born December 12, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA, to Doris Stanton who raised him with maternal grandparents, Esther & Herman Orr. A longtime resident of Miami Beach, Scott is a former Chief Financial Officer, Senior V.P. of John Alden Financial Corporation. An entrepreneurial renaissance man of diverse talents, Scott went on to found Coconuts Nursery & Landscaping, Witchcraft Catering, and Stanton Home Design. Scott’s love for traveling influenced his creative flair in the kitchen. His home was always open—a home to all, filled with intoxicating aromas and the laughter of friends, neighbors and anyone without a place to go on holidays. Every day was Thanksgiving with Scott. He was bigger than life. And it was a big life for all who knew him. He is survived by his brother Marc Stanton, sister-in-law Debby, and his beloved niece, Samantha. As well as by the countless friends whose life he touched every day with his generosity, wit, flair for food and his boundless zest for life.
A gathering for friends and family will follow the memorial services at the Stanton residence in Normandy Shores. Memorial services to be held Monday, February 18, 2013 at 12 Noon at:
Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel
