Selma Roberts' Obituary
Selma Witte Roberts, beloved wife of the late Sanford B. Roberts, passed away on March 8, 2023. Selma was born on September 11, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York to Regina “Belle” (Goldstein) and Aaron “Harry” Witte.
Selma grew up in Brooklyn and graduated as the valedictorian of her class in 1951 from Samuel J. Tilden High School. She attended Brooklyn College and then moved with her family to Miami, Florida, where she met and married her cherished husband “Sandy” of 35 years. The couple relocated to Orlando, Florida, where they lived for 13 years and their family grew with 4 children before moving to Hollywood, Florida and later Hallandale Beach, Florida. Selma resided in Boynton Beach, Florida for the last 20 years of her life.
Selma was a loving and devoted mother to her children: Michelle (Steven) Perlman, Mark (Deby Kennedy) Roberts, Scott (Heather Greene) Roberts, Bruce (Joanne) Roberts, and Stacey (Edward) Hamburg and was a wonderful sister to her brother, Leonard (Donna) Witte.
Selma was a cherished grandmother to her eleven grandchildren: Rachel Gray, Sarah (Tyler) Chasez, Zachary (Lauren) Roberts, Sean (Leah) Roberts, Steven (Meli Nessman) Roberts, Samantha (Josh Opdahl) Roberts, Michael (Mina) Hamburg, Adam (Jennifer) Hamburg, Daniel (Brendan Driscoll) Greene, Jacob (Lucy Rhoades) Greene, and David Perlman.
Selma was an adored great-grandmother to her ten great-grandchildren: Jane Williams, Isaac Williams, Eliana Chasez, Delilah Chasez, Blake Roberts, Seth Roberts, Avi Hamburg, Sy Hamburg, Gila Hamburg and Ruby Hamburg.
Selma was a special aunt to her nieces and nephews: Arona, Alex, Douglas and Leah Witte, as well as her great-nephews: Kamden, Jayce and Dylan Asher.
Selma was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband, her beloved sister, Marilyn Witte, and her grandson, Sandy Blake Roberts.
