Seymour Abis' Obituary
Abis, Seymour (Poppy Cy) - passed away on April 18, 2011 at 94 years of age, to join his beloved Ruthie, who he loved so dearly and treated like a Queen. He was a WWII veteran, and past Commander of the Knights of Pythias Maccabee Lodge 182 in N. Miami, but he will best be known over the past 30 years as owner of the former Cy's Luncheonette in NMB, which made him and his Ruthie popular figures around town. Perpetually happy, never complaining or wanting for anything, he always told everyone he felt great, When asked what his secret was to happiness, he responded “you make yourself happy”. Everyone knew him as the man who always had a smile on his face. He touched everyone, both literally and figuratively. Poppy Cy leaves a legacy of great joy and will be sorely missed by all. He is survived by his children Neil Abis (Elena), Eliot (Sandy) Reifkind, Shelley (Rick) Lundy, Bernie (Sandy) Reifkind, his grandchildren Risa (Lenny) Steinman, Jana Lundy, Ian Reifkind, Paula (Eric) Wilkinson, Jordan and Julia Reifkind, Marc and Robert Abis, and his great-grandchildren Ella and Lilli Steinman. Graveside services 11:00AM Sunday at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25 Street, Doral, Fl . ETERNAL LIGHT Funeral Directors NMB 305-948-9900
