Seymour "Scott" Davidson's Obituary
DAVIDSON, SEYMOUR (SCOTT)
passed away peacefully on December 2, 2015 at the age of 92. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1923 to Marcus and Rose Davidson, immigrants from Norway and the Ukraine. Scott attended Bronx Science and Dewitt Clinton High Schools before the family moved to Miami. He graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1940 and became a Miami resident for the next 76 years. He attended the University of Miami, but before completing his studies, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy during WW II. Scott was a decorated veteran who served with honor and distinction. After the war, he obtained a degree in chemistry and a Masters Degree in microbiology and biochemistry from the University of Florida. In 1960 Scott founded and operated the Star Pharmaceutical Companies. He ran Star until its sale in 2003. Scott is survived by his loving daughters Karen and Laurie (Marc) and by many extended family members and friends.
