Joseph Mcevoy
His kind invitations to visit him annually in Amsterdam towards the ending of the summers for sharing a few days of his companionship; this was a regular occurrence for us since many years and up until the time of his passing from this world; his generosity, gentleness and earnest devotion for studying and contemplating harpsichord/keyboard music, particularly the works of J. S. Bach; his intimate sharing of such musical and philosophical interests with myself and his encouragement for my musical abilities on both the harpsichord and the recorder; our enjoyments of sharing chamber music with him playing the harpsichord and with me on the recorder; his earlier and wonderful friendship with other members of our family such as with my brother who played baroque violin; our sharing of chamber music studies and performances yet for our own personal cultural interests and enjoyment; his arrival for visits with us that nearly always included a delicious fruit cake! All in all; his faithfulness, kindness, great sense of humour and fantastic hospitality as a fine and excellent companion and friend! May his blessings flourish on earth always and by virtue of all his future lives; may all his great works and services be eternally blessed in Heaven as on earth! Thank you for you, Seymour! With tender love always, yours humbly and faithfully, from Joey McEvoy lll (in Ireland).
