Sharon "Pixie" Hertz Levy's Obituary
Sharon “Pixie” Hertz Levy, a long-time resident of Cape Coral, Florida, died peacefully Friday the 21st of May at Hope Hospice. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in 1944 in Brooklyn NY to Ethel and Hal Hertz, Sharon grew up with her brother Stephen in a beautiful and loving home in Miami Beach. After graduating from Beach High in 1961, Sharon received a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Miami 1965.
Pursuing a career path in public relations, she worked at the Eden Rock Hotel and the Coconut Grove Playhouse. Sharon moved on to teaching and was a beloved teacher at Booker T. Washington High School and then Massapequa High School on Long Island. She then transitioned to the publishing industry. After the birth of her cherished daughter, Dorian in 1976, she continued her career at several agency's in New York and New Jersey. She married the love of her life, Michael, in 1989. While still consulting, they retired to Cape Coral, Florida in 2002.
Sharon loved spending time with her husband, her many friends and especially her daughter and precious grandchildren, Maya, Mason, Emma and JJ. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Nothing made her more proud than her daughter, Dorian. Known for throwing wonderful dinners and parties, Sharon had a vibrant personality that lit up a room. She was always thinking of others, and would crochet wonderful gifts for those near and far. Brilliant and kind, Sharon loved to laugh and was constantly optimistic and joyful. She will be dearly missed in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Michael Levy, her daughter Dorian Tave, her stepsons Steven London, Jason Levy and his wife Erin Levy, her brother Stephen as well as her beloved grandchildren Maya, Mason, Emma and JJ.
