Sheila Warhaftig Levrant's Obituary
On Monday, August 14, Sheila Levrant, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away in Miami after a brief illness. Born in 1933 to Henrietta and Max Warhaftig in Newark, New Jersey, they moved to Miami Beach in 1943. She graduated from Miami Beach High School in 1951 and married the love of her life, Murray Levrant, in 1954. After raising her two children, Howard and Debbie, and a successful career as a medical office manager on Miami Beach, she and Murray retired and moved to Boynton Beach. Sheila was a very outspoken advocate and supporter for cancer research and a very active member and past president of the Flamingo Cancer League in Miami Beach, ultimately becoming the national president of the AMC Cancer Research Center. She was predeceased by Murray Levrant (husband), Henrietta Warhaftig (mother), Max Warhaftig (father). She left behind her two loving children and their spouses, Howard & Maria Levrant, Debbie & Kurt Huseman, grandchildren Lauren Levrant, Sarah & Josh Steinberg, Jaclyn & Adam Browning, Melissa & Jack Markson, Michael Levrant, and great grandchildren Dax & Oren Steinberg, Ellie & Emma Browning, Archer & Zoe Markson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in memory of Sheila W. Levrant to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), www.aspca.org or the Charity of Your Choice. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Nebo Miami Memorial Gardens, 5505 NW 3rd Street, Miami, Florida 33126.
