Sheldon Gerson's Obituary
Sheldon Gerson, 80 of Miami Beach passed away June 22, 2018. Sheldon was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was the beloved son of the late Harry and Annette Gerson. The family moved to Miami Beach when Sheldon was six years old. Sheldon was the cherished brother of Gary (Niety) Gerson of Miami Beach and Donald (Sandra) Gerson of Boca Raton. Sheldon was a graduate of Miami Beach High School class of 1956 and was a violinist with the Miami Youth Symphony Orchestra. He attended the University of Miami and was a graduate of the class of 1960. After graduating college, he served in the Air Force during the Vietnamese War. Upon leaving the military, he became a Certified Public Accountant and was an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service after which he joined the accounting firm of Gerson-Preston. Sheldon was a member of The Florida Grand Opera, The Miami Concert Association and the New World Symphony. Sheldon was a travel enthusiast, traveling to major music festivals throughout Europe and the United States.
