Shirley Horowitz's Obituary
Shirley Horowitz, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away on Thursday, November 19th. She had just celebrated her 94th birthday on November 4th. A graveside service was held at her place of final resting, Lakeside Memorial Cemetery in Doral, Florida on Sunday, November 22nd.
She is survived by her son, Fred Horowitz and his wife Andrea, her daughter Vivian Dickler, her sister, Edith Platsky, Brother-in-Law Norman Fried, Grandchildren Howard and Margaret Dickler, Scott and Michele Horowitz, Jodi and Adam Vickers and Robyn and Adam Schiff, and Great Grandchildren Aaron and Delanie Dickler, Kyle Dickler, Daniel and Spencer Horowitz, Ava and Mia Vickers and Jordan and Tyler Schiff.
Shirley was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1920 and was an Arista Honor Student. She spent most of her life as a Bookkeeper, both in New Jersey when she lived there and in South Florida when she moved here about 45 years ago with her husband, Harry. She was a twice-honored Volunteer of the Year at Vitas Hospice, who coincidentally was providing home care for her in her final months.
She will be missed by all.
