I found out today of your passing. So sorry I didn't know, as I would have been present at your memorial service. You were a wonderful neighbor to me at Flamingo Villas from 1983 till 1991, as well as a good friend. Rest peacefully.

To this day, I miss seeing Shirley every time I drive by her town home! More often than not she'd be out there talking to one of the residents in our Development. For many years, no one ever opposed her as the President on our Association Board - because she was totally engaged, on many levels, looking out for us all. While we know that death is inevitable, her passing came as such a sudden shock & so many people in the Complex were upset & talking about how she'd be missed. She always felt like a friend you could talk to & she was also competent at helping when it came to Real Estate needs. A light has gone out here, but I feel sure that she'll be a tremendous asset to those in her "new home". As a person whose light shone brightly, her presence is still with those of us who knew & loved her.

Karen Lee & I were planning our ladies' lunch as we agreed to meet after the holidays. We both tried calling your cell and your mail box was full. Not a good sign when a Realtor isn't answering her phone. I figured I'd try to locate your Real Estate Agency and when I googled your name I found this obituary. I am so shocked...and so sad that I didn't know until now. Oh Shirley I am going to miss you but I know you are in Heaven with your Mom & Sister. You were such a sweet & kind person. Such a big heart taking in Sabrina the stray and so devoted to Jackie & the Big Boy. I hope someone has given them a home & they are being cared for.
We have been friends for so many years working the elections, and those long days working the poll on election day. And thank you for attended my husband's funeral service, it was a show of love having you there to support me.
I feel so awful that I didn't know of your unexpected passing and wasn't notified or I would have been at your service.
We will have our ladies' lunch and we will share stories and memories of you and toast you. RIP
