Dear Mom, thank you for loving me always, for giving of yourself always, for teaching me right from wrong and always to be the better person. I will miss going to see shows together, reading books and discussing how wonderful the story touched our hearts, and calling you to make sure you got home ok. Shirley was mom to my closest friend, Leslie, but she was really "mom" to all of us. My husband and I adored her. We spent many wonderful times with her, including several trips to Aruba, a place she loved very much. I took this photo of Shirley and Leslie a few years ago at one of our favorite restaurants.
Rest in peace, Shirley. You were an incredible woman, and will be missed by so many.
