Shuk Hing Yiu's Obituary
SHUK HING YIU, was born on August 24,1929 in Chaoyang County, Guangdong Province廣東省潮陽縣, China. She was raised by her father Jing Fai Yiu (姚曾輝) and mother Yao Hui Zeng (鄭秀娥), who had a factory that made candy. She grew up helping out in the family business since she was young age. Even though her education was limited due to World War II, she always made sure her children were properly educated. She was always a hard worker and dedicated to stay active. She was a real inspiration for her sister Connie Shuk King Yiu (姚淑琼{桂珠})and brother Qiu Leung Yiu (姚桂樑).
Shuk Hing married her husband at the early age of 18 and since then she had became a very busy housewife, raising 9 children with her loving husband who was a dentist in Hong Kong.
She is survived by her loving children Alice, Lucille, Helen, Tini, Norisa, Janice, Harold, Jacqueline and her adopted son Ping Sun. Although she faced challenges and hardship in her life, she remained consistent, committed and loyal to her family and did everything she could to provide for them.
She was a woman who lived life to the fullest. When she was in her 50's, she discovered her new passion for learning to swim. Every morning, she would meet her friend at the beach and enjoy a nice swim every day.
Later in life, she learn how to play Mahjong and spent hours enjoying the strategic, thinking and social aspect of the game. It became one of her favorite pastimes.
She loved to prepare delicious meals for her family and friends, especially during Holidays. She never gave up on being independent and learnt how to drive in her early 70's.
Sadly, in her 80's her health began to fail but even during her struggles, she remained a kind and loving mother.
Shuk Hing’s kind spirit will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her.
