Sidney Domb's Obituary
Sidney Domb passed away on January 4th, 2015, in Miami Beach, Florida, surrounded by his family. A loving family man and friend with an unparalleled zest for life, he leaves his family and friends with unforgettable memories of his beautiful spirit. He was forever young at heart.
Sidney began his career in the 1950’s in New York as a stand-up comic while supporting himself by selling aluminum siding door-to-door where he honed his skills as the consummate salesman. He moved to Florida and then California where his career in the real estate business took off. He soon became a pioneer in the development of single tenant properties. In 1972, he founded Miami based United Trust Fund which today is an industry leader in corporate sale-leasebacks. He was widely recognized as an industry expert.
He firmly believed “choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. He lived it every day.
He was larger than life and the embodiment of a man who lived life to the fullest. He shared his many gifts with everyone. His wisdom and enthusiasm, his generosity and compassion, his wonderful stories, and his pure kindness, have made him immortal. He has given us all a part of himself that will live in each of us forever.
His amazing spirit continues to live through his son, Paul (Irene) Domb; daughter Lorelle Friend; sister Lillian Berliner; “brother” George Berliner; Grandchildren Hannah Courtelis, Shiloh Serpa, Katie Friend, Layla Friend, Jesse Friend, Jake Friend, Shayna Friend, Audrey Friend, Sierra Domb, Matea Friend and David Friend; Great Grandchildren, Rayne Ramlal, Camron Serpa, Phoenix Serpa, Kaia Friend and Lauren Courtelis; Nephew, Fred Berliner; Niece Linda Levine; Grand Nephews Larry Berliner and Matthew Levine; Grand Nieces Helene Shore, Jennifer Paletz, Lindsay Berliner and Jessica Levine and many more family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, January 6th at 12:00 p.m. at Levitt-Weinstein Chapel at Beth David, 3201 N.W. 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, Florida.
