Sol J. Schreiber's Obituary
SCHREIBER, Sol J.Died peacefully at home January 25. Beloved husband of Pauline Winick, father of Gloria (Fred) Chekanow, and Marjorie (John) Karvonen, son-in- law Leonard Morrison, stepfather of Margot Winick (Larry Clark) and Graham Winick, grandfather and great-grandfather. Predeceased by his first wife, Thelma Emdin Schreiber and his daughter, Roberta Morrison. He loved life so much that he was determined until the very end to be part of it—having celebrated his 95th birthday last October. The owner of Barnett’s Office Supplies, he was fond of saying he was a pencil pusher who ran a clip joint. Among his proudest civic accomplishments was his role as an early-member of Temple Judea of Coral Gables. His continuing support helped nurture the Temple’s growth and he served as its President in the 1970’s.Services will be held at Temple Judea, 5500 Granada Boulevard, Coral Gables, 33146 on Friday at 10 am with burial immediately following at Mt. Nebo Kendall Memorial Gardens, 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, 33143. A private memorial ‘roast’ will be held at a future date.Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert(305) 865-2353
