Sol Kramer's Obituary
KRAMER
Sol, 96, died on April 24, 2013 in Pompano Beach, FL. Born in Baltimore, MD, he graduated high school at age 14. Lacking both funds and a desire for further education, he went into business with his brother Lou. Over the next 70 years the business expanded from selling balsa wood model airplane kits in their mother’s basement to worldwide enterprises encompassing all facets of the hobby industry. His only break was the time spent in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was a complicated man with a simple lifestyle. He never forgot he was a child of immigrants; he always remembered that Family is the most important thing in life. Sol is survived by his son Karl and daughter-in-law Tessa. He is also survived by his grandson Peter Kramer (Barbara), granddaughter Laura Cohen (Gregg), and step-grandson, Dan Gold. Nephews Jay Kramer (Harriet) and Richard Kramer (Debby) also survive him. The joys of his later years were his great granddaughters Danielle Cohen, Alexa Cohen, and Kat Kramer. He was predeceased by Doris, his wife of 53 years, and his brother Lou and sister-in-law Bernice. For the past 12 years Florence Cohen has both cared for Sol and cared deeply about Sol. His last years were made better by her. Sol Kramer was a man of honor and will be missed by all who knew him. Donations to charity of your choice. Chapel Service Sunday, April 28th at 12:00 noon at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 18840 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, 33180 with interment at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
