Solomon Cinnamon's Obituary
CINNAMON Solomon, 100, passed away in Florida on September 25, 2014 after a brief illness. Solomon (Sol) was born October 3, 1913, in NYC, NY, the son of the late Isaac and Rachel Cinnamon. On June 30, 1940 Sol married the love of his life Miriam Cohen after a courtship that lasted nearly eight years. Their marriage would last nearly 74 years in spite of being interrupted by World War II in which Sol served with distinction. A self-employed free-lance window trimmer, Sol joined Miriam in making Bergenfield, NJ their home for 50 years where they raised three children and spent summer vacations in Hunter, NY. Sol is preceded in death by his wife Miriam and is survived by daughter Meryl (Joseph Frederick) of Lauderhill, FL, son Mark (Doreen Kelly) of Chevy Chase, MD, son Ralph (Nancy) of Palm Coast, FL, five grandchildren and their partners, two great grandchildren, a brother Charlie, several nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives and close friends. Funeral services Sunday, September 28, 2:00 pm at Levitt Weinstein/Beth David Memorial Gardens and Chapel, 3201 NW 72nd Ave., Hollywood, FL (954) 963-2400. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Sol's name to The Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, 150 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164 (386) 586-1500. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to Dr. Ayman Abdou and Dr. Alan Nigen for their dedicated and devoted service on Sol's behalf.
