Stanley N. Ferber's Obituary
Stanley Ferber passed away on May 30, 2021, at the age of 88. He was born on August 16, 1932, in New York City, New York. Stan grew up in Brooklyn, New York until his family moved to the Albany Park neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago. He established childhood friendships in Chicago that would last a lifetime, well beyond the years he spent at the school he loved so much, Roosevelt High.
Stan graduated from the University of Miami Business School in 1955 and shortly thereafter joined his father to help establish a furniture manufacturing company in Hialeah, named Florida Manufacturing & Distributing Company. In an effort to expand the family business, Stan moved to Atlanta, where he met the love of his life and late wife, Sandy. Stan moved back to Miami with Sandy in 1969, where they raised a loving Jewish family.
Stan loved the furniture business and industry. He was very active on the board of the Florida Association of Furniture Manufacturers from its inception and held the role of President for multiple terms. Stan was an avid tennis player, and huge sports fan, especially the Miami teams. It would not be unusual to find him at a Heat, Dolphins, Canes Football and Basketball game over the course of one week.
Beloved husband of the late Sandy Ferber (2009), loving father of Stephen (Melissa) Ferber and Stacey (William) Rosenberg. Cherished grandfather of Nicole Ferber, Daryl Oxenberg, Joseph Ferber & Jesse Oxenberg. Dear brother of Harvey Ferber and the late Gail Barden.
Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Doral, Florida. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein/Beth David Memorial Chapel (954) 966-2400
