Stanley Friedman's Obituary
Stanley Friedman died peacefully in his home on Thanksgiving morning. He had a lot to be thankful for and knew it. He was born on January 10, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Bea and Murray Friedman and moved without his family to Miami Beach for health reasons in 1946. His father died in 1949. Two years later he married Glenda and together they had three outstanding boys. In his early 20s he founded Florida Burlap and Bag Company which later merged with and became Smart Pak Industries. Through sacrifice and hard work his businesses succeeded and were sold in 1988. It was then that he began the second chapter of his life with investing in real estate, traveling the world, summers in the Berkshires and his second career, gin rummy with the guys. Most important though, always, was time spent with his family. He is predeceased by his wife Glenda, son Perry and brother Ronnie, and is survived by sons Michael (Carolynn) and Lee (Robin); grandchildren Jessie (Omri) and Cory; Jenny, Spencer and Alex; great grandson Zev; sister Jayne Feder; and loving girlfriend Terri. There was no one in life with a spirit like Stanley, and he will be greatly missed. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 25 at 1:00 pm at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Doral, FL 33172. The family will gather at his apartment in Sunny Isles Beach immediately following the service. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg, Rubin-Zilbert (305) 932-2700.
