Stanley Howard Jaffee's Obituary
Stanley Howard Jaffee of Coral Gables Florida, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joy Jaffee, sons Scott and Rob, daughter’s-in-law Robyn and Alison and grandchildren Luke, Charlie, Lily and Zachary. Stan was raised in Youngstown Ohio. However, upon finishing training at Merrill Lynch in Canton Ohio, he and his new bride moved to Miami where he began what was set to become an illustrious 40 year career in finance. During that time he was chosen for Merrill Lynch Chairman’s club, served as President of the City Club and was on the board of the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts as well as on the board of the Dade Community Foundation.
A true renaissance man, when he retired from finance he began a second career as an artist. His unique vibrant digital photography has been shown from galleries and public spaces across the Northeast all the way to exhibitions at Art Miami. His love for the financial markets he passed to his sons. His love for the arts he passed to his grandchildren.
Stanley actively shunned the spotlight but lit up every room he walked into. He would offer his help to those in need but never seek accolades for having done so. In fact, many instances only came to light upon his passing when those he helped or mentored expressed their gratitude and shared their stories with the family.
Stan leaves a legacy of achievement but more importantly countless people who have received his generosity, benefited from his guidance, were warmed by his friendship and were moved by the beauty of his art. He will be missed but the sheer size of his spirit guarantees he will live on forever in each of us who were blessed to have known him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Drive, Miami, Florida 33156. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 932-2700
